If your child is starting nursery with us, you will be sent a start date for settling in. On the child's first week, we invite you and your child to attend everyday to help them settle in and become familiar with their new environment. On the first day, you will be invited along for one hour. We ask that you stay with your child during this time to complete any necessary paperwork and give you and your child time to develop relationships with the staff in the room. This time will then be gradually increased across the first week before their agreed hours commence the following week.
Your child will be given their own peg and bag with their name attached. We encourage parents to pack several spare changes of clothes. Children will be discovering, creating and experimenting with messy materials. Parents are asked to bring their child to nursery in “play clothes” i.e. easily washed. Children should also be prepared for our ever changing Scottish weather as we offer outdoor play every day.
If your child has a medical condition, please inform a member of staff during settling in procedures. If your child has a long term medical condition e.g allergies or asthma, the nursery must be provided with labelled medication to remain within the nursery for the duration of your child's time attending nursery.
